Meet Dr. Persichetti and His Staff

About Dr. Persichetti
Dr. Persichetti holds multiple degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his undergraduate BA degree in Biology. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (UPSDM) with a DMD degree in 1972, followed by a Dental Internship at The Philadelphia General Hospital 1972-73. Dr. Persichetti spent the next three (3) years in private general dental practice in Clinton, New Jersey and as a part-time faculty member at UPSDM. He returned to Penn for his specialty training and completed a 2 year residency in Orthodontics in the Division of Advanced Dental Education in 1978.

Upon graduation Dr. Persichetti accepted a position as Clinic Director of both the Preventive and Interceptive (pediatric) and Adjunctive Orthodontic (adult) Clinics, taught the introductory orthodontic course to undergraduate dental students, and joined the Faculty Practice. He served in this capacity for four (4) years before devoting himself full time to private practice. During the time Dr. Persichetti served as Course Director of Adjunctive Orthodontics, interest in this topic became more popular and widespread; he subsequently organized the information and authored a chapter in a textbook of adult orthodontics.

Dr. Persichetti became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) in 1990 and was voluntarily re-certified in 2003. In 2006 he accepted an invitation to serve as a Consultant-Examiner of the ABO, examining new candidates for board-certification.

He is an original member of the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation, an organization devoted to furthering orthodontic research and education. He is also on the Board of Directors of The Greater Philadelphia Society of Orthodontists, and will serve as President in 2008-2009.

Dr. Persichetti is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association.

In addition to his professional activities, Dr. Persichetti holds a patent for a custom dental impression tray, which greatly improves the impression-taking experience.

He opened his Holland Office in July, 1979 and has been in continuous practice since that time. The practice expanded to include an office in Washington Crossing in 2003. Dr. Persichetti lives with his family in Upper Makefield.
